Wedding Day Highlights: Erin and Jesse threw a vintage Hawaiian themed vegan luau in contemporary, elegant downtown San Francisco complete with authentic Hawaiian folk music, Hula dancers (led by the bride) and an after-dinner tiki lounge. The groom, wedding party and parents were all adorned in a variety of fragrant flower leis, and a wall of hanging flowers and large floral sprays overhead were created from pictures of the bride’s parents’ wedding. The 225 guests devoured a beautifully designed meatless menu, then filled the dance floor all night with some of the best swing dancing in the country—powered by Pineapple Cake with White Chocolate Frosting.
Their Story: Events coordinator Erin and vegan personal chef Jesse have more in common than just being longtime vegans. They met in July 2000 as Lindy Hop dancers at a special training camp, and the dynamic duo—whose friends are all Lindy Hoppers—has been doin’ the vegan jitterbug ever since. Their lucky Chihuahua, Miss Jazz, accompanied them on the first week of their honeymoon at a dog-friendly retreat on the Russian River in Guerneville, Calif. For week two, they jetted off to Belize to enjoy the sun, sea and delicious local veg cuisine at Soul Shine Resort.
